The magnetic interface for precast walls
Waterproof concrete structures in pressurised water pose particular challenges. In addition to in-situ concrete construction, building with element walls has also become established as a waterproof concrete construction method. Consistent quality and rapid construction progress are just two of the many advantages here. Whether in-situ concrete or precast element construction, all places where pipes or cables pass through the wall pose a challenge. Here, precautions must be taken against water penetration by using pipe penetrations with waterproof sealing. These pipe penetrations are currently glued manually to the formwork tables in precast element factories using installation covers.
The new KRASO Magnetic Cover with magnetic interface for KRASO Pipe Penetrations provides a solution. Using formwork robots, the magnet can also be positioned automatically with millimetre precision for pipe penetrations, and the pipe penetration can be clicked onto the formwork of the outer shell via the cover with magnetic interface. When the element wall is turned, the magnet remains on the formwork and the magnetic cover remains in the pipe penetration as protection.

Regarding our wall and pipe penetrations the KRASO 4 Seal reliably keeps pressurised water out: The material testing institute certifies a water pressure tightness up to 10 bar! Due to its construction the KRASO 4 Seal is securely fixed to the concrete. It is joined to the solid wall pipe monolithically (force-fit) in a special process. This completely prevents any creep or slippage.
Whether KRASO Pump Sumps made of concrete, Flange Plates, Tie Points or Sealing Inserts: they all offer reliable protection against pressing water due to their construction, material and processing. All these products have been tested by independent material testing institutes regarding their water pressure tightness and are proof against pressurised water up to 10 bar!
Not only against pressing water — KRASO Sealing Inserts are additionally gas- and odour-tight and therefore high-quality in terms of TA-Air! Due to a successful proof in a material testing institute our sealing inserts include the administrative regulation of the Federal Immission Control Act: “Technical Instructions on Air Quality Control TA-Air”.
Products with Torque Control Nut KRASO DKM can be installed without having to use a torque wrench. The correct torque moment is integrated in the KRASO DKM. The installation has never been so easy and installation errors can be avoided.
Radon (Rn) is a radio-active noble gas which develops in rock earth. Via ground air this colour- and odourless gas can enter basement rooms through leakages. Radon is the second most common cause for lung cancer. Pipe penetrations with KRASO 4 Seal and KRASO Sealing Inserts are gas tight and therefore reliably protect your building against the intrusion of radon.
The DVGW — The German Technical and Scientific Association for Gas and Water - certified that KRASO Sealing Inserts are gas-tight according to DIN EN13611 (sector 7.2). Our sealing inserts therefore meet the criteria for the German Association for Gas and Water.
The KRASO Builder's Convenience Box has the application from DVGW - German Technical and Scientific Association for Gas and Water - according DVGW VP 601 as house connection for gas and water and therefore fulfils all directives for a gas- and water pressure tight installation.
The so-called “fire-resistance grading” gives information about the DIN normed fire resistance of building materials. The grading shows the letter ”F” along with the time span of the functional integrity in minutes. With 180 minutes of functional integrity the fire-resistance grading F 180 therefore stands for a highly- fire-resistant material.
The “general building authority test certificate” (abP) and the “general building authority approval” (abZ) ensure compliance with building regulations and the usability of building products based on state building regulations or the model building regulations.
KRASO Products with a "FHRK Quality" – icon meet the testing specifications of FHRK e.V. - the trade association for house connections for pipes and cables. The tests cover all possible stresses on sealing inserts, house connection systems, pipe penetrations and casings: for example, gas- and water pressure tightness, abrasion resistance when backfilling formwork or resistance when compacting the building pit.
KRASO Products with the icon "FHRK Radondicht" have been tested according FHRK or/and DVGW testing specifications regarding their gas- and water pressure tightness and have also been successfully tested for diffusion resistance by the IAF. Products with this seal are radon-tight!
